Touring Terabithia

In search of an actually active and living role-play sim, I happened to hear of this one purely by luck. I'd been hair shopping and spotted an adorable red furred faun who I quickly IM'd and complimented on her appearance. She'd been very kind but was curious if I was just in "Tera" with her, as I guess someone not too long prior to me had complimented her as well. I told her I wasn't but asked about Tera. She told me it was the RP sim she visited that was fantasy/medieval themed. I looked into it further and eventually found my way to this land. Upon zoning in, you receive a notecard stating the rules and codes of the land, one of which is that anyone is welcome to explore Terabithia, but they must be in appropriate clothing for the era. I immediately set out to complete an outfit for a faun which I'd been putting together gradually.

After completing my look with a 'panther' style outfit, I returned to Terabithia and began exploring. Right away, I saw a devilish faun seated on a hill speaking with a small icy fae that was fluttering near her. A fair elven lady was near them and conversing with the two creatures. I kept my distance and simply watched, curious about how things played out in these lands. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only serious but skilled role-players here in this sim. Throughout the evening and into the night, I ventured about, taking a tour with a young elf and her human friend through the various areas dedicated to the numerous races that dwelled in Tera. Only halfway through our tour, a goblin named Nal jumped from the bushes and after some humorous banter with our tourguide, ended up chasing us around Tera, particularly Rayne, our elven guide. The happenings of the evening were a great taste of the events that take place regularly in Tera. I've returned twice since then, that's once per day since my first visit.

Upon my second evening there, I met a great roleplayer and veteran of Tera, who actually had multiple characters she played throughout the different races. An alt for each character, her most famous was probably her most entertaining character, a rather tall masculine faun nomadic woman by the name of Raiyn Core. Apparently she is quite well known throughout Tera as both grumpy and randy, never hesitating to find unsuspecting travelers near her camp to take into her tent. As time went on though, the predatory ways became harder for her since more and more folks actually visited her camp just to get attacked by her on purpose! This gal is a hoot to talk with and I've since become friends with her and shared alot of laughs that first night we met.

I've since joined with the Kentavros herd in the land, which consists of the fauns, demicorns, satyrs, centaurs, and minotaurs who live in peace together, protecting their own and their land. They're led by a large yet kind white minotaur chieftain whose name I can't remember off the top of my head. Last night, I was trotting around the ruins at the top of our herd's mountain and met another person new to Tera. His name was Ulf and he was an intimidatingly large black minotaur. Despite his appearance, he was quite friendly and intelligent I came to find. He jokingly said how despite his gruff appearance and size, people seem to be drawn to him and his friendly manner rather than be frightened off by it. We chatted for a few hours about various things, coming to find he had been around second life for a few years and was no first timer to role-playing sims. After our chat, I logged out feeling quite happy with the quality of players and role-play value of this sim. While you will only get out of it what you put into it, I believe Tera is just what I was looking for, for a place to call my RP home.
